이반지하 Ibanjiha
이반지하(b.1981, 한국)는 2004년부터 가부장제, 퀴어성, 젠더 경계를 주제로 매체 간 경계를 넘나들며 작업해 온 다학제 예술가이다. 작가명 ‘이반지하’는 성소수자를 뜻하는 한국말 ‘이반’과 예술가 정체성이 형성된 위태로운 생활 공간이자 작업 공간, ‘반지하’를 결합한 것이다.
Ibanjiha(b.1981) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice traverses various media to explore themes of patriarchy, queerness, and gender boundaries since 2004. The artist’s name, “Ibanjiha,” is a portmanteau of Iban (a Korean term for LGBTQ+ individuals) and Banjia (the semi-basement—a precarious living and working space where the artist’s identity was first forged)
